Boys and Girls Club of Mercer Health Fair

This past weekend, on April 12th, we had the incredible opportunity to present at the Boys and Girls Club of Mercer’s inaugural Health Fair — and we’re still buzzing with gratitude and excitement.

The event welcomed over 150 attendees from the local community, all gathering to learn more about mental health, physical well-being, and community resources. We were honored to be part of that lineup, sharing our mission to reconnect youth with nature as a powerful, accessible tool for mental health support.

Our presentation focused on how time in the wilderness — whether through guided hikes, survival skills, or mindfulness in green spaces — can promote emotional resilience, reduce stress, and foster a deeper sense of agency among adolescents. We brought handouts, conversation cards, and personal stories to make our message relatable and actionable. And to our surprise, we were even featured on the Boys and Girls Club’s Instagram story — a small but meaningful moment that reminded us how important it is to keep showing up for conversations like these.

At its core, our project is about building bridges — between mental health and the outdoors, between information and action, and most importantly, between young people and their potential for growth. Events like this health fair prove that the appetite for those connections is real, and growing.
